STAY WITH US

Select one or more of our four cosy self-catering cottages and escape into nature, situated amongst the vineyards. The cottages are 1,6 km from the nearest tar road and have uninterrupted views of the magnificent and imposing surrounding mountains. Sip our award-winning wines at the end of a relaxing day on the stoep (verandah) as the sun sets over the manicured vineyards. Soak your body and enjoy a romantic moment by relaxing in your very own private wood-fired Turkish Bath and marvel at the surrounding mountains or stars, bright from the stillness of the night sky. Wake up to the sound of birds and the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding mountains. Feel the fresh air and soft breeze by walking, running or cycling on the farm and surrounds. Visit the local area and towns in the Witzenberg, indulge in whatever brings you peace and happiness, or simply choose rest, read and recharge. Find yourself, your partner, or your family without deadline or distraction from television or radio. Wireless internet is available.

Our cottages are well equipped with all that you may need to enjoy a comfortable visit, whether solo, a couple, a family or with friends, including Board Games. Cool in summer and with fireplaces for long, romantic evenings in the winter. Savour the moment in your very own and unique private wood-fired Turkish bath next to the stoep. Our cottage kitchens include – stove, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, pot, pans, crockery and cutlery – if you choose to cook. Alternatively, relax and enjoy a lekker (awesome) indoor or outdoor braai (barbeque) complete with (CLEAN) grids, tongs and potjie (on request), and remember to wash it down with one of our award-winning wines straight from our cellar. We supply linen and towels, both for cottage and Turkish Bath usage, so you need not bring any for your stay. Effectively – only bring yourself and your food!

Should the owners be on the farm, you are most likely to be invited late Friday or sometime Saturday for a private tasting in the Winery, along with the now-iconic photograph with the mountain as the backdrop.

Terms and Conditions

Occupancy:   The occupancy per cottage is strictly limited to the number of people indicated per cottage as per the website unless otherwise agreed to in writing with the owner.  Any failure to adhere to this would automatically result in a breach of contract and you will be asked to immediately vacate the premises.

Water-wise:  Water remains a global challenge, and we are not immune to it on Seven Oaks Farm.  If you do not intend to use your Turkish Bath during your stay, please let us know in advance so that we don’t waste water by filling it up unnecessarily.  Upon your departure, the water is used to irrigate the surrounding gardens. In addition, you will also notice that all of the cottages are fitted with water-saving showerheads.

Wood: We provide one complimentary bag of wood at each cottage to braai with or heat the Turkish Bath.  Should you require more than this for your stay, please notify us before your arrival to ensure that it is placed at your cottage (cost to be advised).  Note: The hosts are not available for wood or firelighters during your stay, but both are available to purchase at the cellar during open cellar hours or at local farm stalls.  To heat the Turkish Bath,  you will need 2-3 bags under normal weather conditions, and in winter (when very cold), up to 5 bags may be required.

Turkish Bath usage: If the Turkish Bath is required for a single night booking, a fee of an additional R300 is required.

Arrival and Departure: We ask that you arrive from 2 pm onwards and depart by 10 am so that there is enough time to clean the cottages between bookings.

Deposit: We ask for full payment within 72 hours of booking to secure your booking and within 24 hours of booking at short notice.

Payment: We will supply our bank details on the invoice when bookings are made. We ask that you email us your proof of payment, with your name and invoice no on it as the reference. Without this, your booking reservation is not confirmed and will lapse. We suggest you confirm that we have received your deposit.

Cancellation: If you cancel more than 14 days before your arrival, we will gladly give you a refund. We reserve the right to not refund card fees (transaction costs) in the case of any cancellation or situation where funds need to be reversed back to a credit card. For cancellations within 14 days of arrival, there are no refunds.

Peace & Tranquility: We wish you and our other guests a peaceful stay with us. We request that you please respect this by avoiding loud noise, music, or television. Please do not leave lights on unnecessarily, not only to prevent light pollution but to save energy.

Entertainment: The entertainment at any of the cottages, of people who are not staying on the farm, is strictly prohibited unless a prior arrangement has been made with the owners or management.

Parties & Functions: No parties or functions are to be held at the cottages unless all 4 cottages have been hired and prior approval has been obtained from the owners or management.  No outside guests are allowed.

Drones & Fireworks: Drones and fireworks are strictly forbidden on the farm.

Pets and Smoking: We do NOT allow pets and smoking in any of the cottages.

Wifi:  Please note that our wifi is slower than in the city as we do not have fibre-optic lines.

Furniture: Inside furniture should not be placed outside.  Do not sit on inside furniture with wet clothing.

Cleaning: A bedding and towel change every fourth day is included if you stay with us for more than four days. Just ask in advance if any extra cleaning is required, so we can arrange this for you (a negotiated fee is charged). Laundry (washing and ironing) can also be arranged on request and at a fee.

Rates: Our rates include 15% VAT and are increased annually on 1 February.

Minimum Booking Period: Bookings are for a minimum of 2 nights on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Contact: Please get in touch with Jacqui by calling either 083 639 0405 or email at cottages@sevenoaks.co.za for detailed inquiries and advice on our rates, terms and conditions.
